I have some very specific tastes when it comes to pop culture.
Anybody who knows me knows that I'm a huge fan of Star Trek. I frequently re-watch episodes of TNG even though I've seen them dozens of times. I listen to Star Trek podcasts, and I sometimes read and listen to Star Trek novels.
I don't watch Star Trek exclusively, but sometimes it may appear that way. Some may wonder why I re-watch the same Star Trek episodes when there are so many new shows and movies to be discovered. The best answer I have is that, to me, Star Trek is comfortable and familiar. I'm a fan of other shows and movies as well (I'm currently into Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), but I always make time for Star Trek.
I've enjoyed video games since I was a little kid, but, these days it can be difficult to find time to play. Due to my busy schedule, I've found myself losing interest in video games overall, with the exception of... Nintendo. Ever since I played Mario Bros on my Atari 5200, I've loved Nintendo games. Of course, the subsequent release of the NES & Super Mario Bros. blew my mind at the time. (If you haven't noticed already, I'm also a big fan of Mario.) These days, it feels like I'm one of the only people in the world who owns, plays, and thoroughly enjoys the Wii U.
Many of my posts on this site will be related to Star Trek & Nintendo. Consider yourself warned. If you're a very specific type of geek (like me), you'll enjoy these posts. Even if you're not, hopefully you'll still find them to be worth reading, and, who knows, maybe I'll convert you to a Trekkie or Nintendo fanboy (or girl).
This doesn't mean that all of my posts will be Star Trek or Nintendo related. There are sure to be some posts related to Joss Whedon, The Simpsons, and exposing Bug's secret love of the band Creed.
